Time zone switch now available!

We have added a time zone switch on this website. Choose a location and see all programme times in the correct time zone!

During the Dutch Caribean Research Week, we welcome visitors from the Caribbean and from the Netherlands. Of course, we don't want to run the risk that they miscalculate the time difference and miss out on interesting programme elements. Therefore, every visitor can now choose in which time zone the programme will be shown!

How does it work?

If you are using a computer, you will see a drop-down menu at the top right. On your phone, open the menu and you will see the dropdown at the bottom of your screen. Provided you have not protected your location data, it will pre-select the location your browser says you are in. If you are visiting the website from the Netherlands, you will see Europe/Amsterdam; if you are in the Caribbean, you will see America/Curaçao. Are you viewing the website from a different time zone? Then it will be added and selected automatically.

The time zones come from a standard list of locations used by internet browsers. Of the locations where DCRW is being held, unfortunately only Curaçao is included. We therefore kindly ask visitors from Statia, St Martin, Saba, Bonaire or Aruba to select Curaçao here. All visitors from the Netherlands can use Amsterdam.

Programme times on the programme page, programme item pages and speaker pages are displayed in the selected time zone.

If your location is shielded, you can manually select the desired time zone from the drop-down menu.
